People & Culture Generalist
CoPilot AI is a Vancouver-based SaaS start-up with a mission: to innovate the way people grow their business by humanizing digital interactions in a scalable way.
We believe in maximizing authentic and mutually beneficial human connections for business growth, which is why CoPilot AI automatically targets qualified people on social media, initiates one-to-one conversations, and surfaces timely sales opportunities without requiring any cold calling, events, or expensive advertising. Our goal is to create a place where our customers can have more meaningful conversations at scale.
As we scale into the next phase, we are looking for a highly motivated People & Culture Generalist to join our General & Administrative (G&A) team!
Since the holiday season is fast approaching and many of us will be recharging on vacation, we will be collecting resumes all through the month of December and begin reviewing and shortlisting candidates for interviews in the New Year (January 2026).
The Role
Reporting directly to our CEO & Co-Founder, Jesse Chen, the People & Culture Generalist will be the engine for our employee experience and organizational development. This is a highly autonomous, full-cycle P&C role where you will own everything from talent acquisition and data-driven insights to ensuring our policies and culture operations empower our high-performing team.
The People & Culture Generalist plays a critical role in CoPilot AI’s ambitious growth plans. This position requires someone who seamlessly combines industry knowledge, innovative vision, emotional intelligence, thought leadership, and a solutions-driven approach to promote excellence in alignment with CoPilot AI’s high-performance culture.
What you’ll do:
- People Operations - Own the entire employee lifecycle; manage new hire onboarding, oversee employment changes, and ensure a smooth offboarding experience. This includes meticulous administration, HRIS management (we use HiBob), and policy execution.
- Talent Acquisition - Implement and enforce recruitment best practices, driving a positive candidate experience and ensuring all hiring managers own the outcome of a successful hire. This role is responsible for the end-to-end recruitment of open roles. Side note: we use TeamTailor as our ATS and have automated many components of our recruiting funnel!
- Employee Relations & Compliance - Provide support for employee relations, underperformance, and sensitive issues with good judgment and discretion. Maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of applicable HR employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance.
- Data & Analysis - Collect, report, and synthesize people data for the company (e.g., turnover, engagement, compensation analysis), offering simple to moderately complex insights and solutions that drive measurable improvements in key P&C metrics.
- Culture Lighting Rod - Act as the primary champion and guardian of CoPilot AI's core values. This includes proactively seeking feedback, identifying areas of cultural friction or misalignment, and designing engaging and effective people programs that amplifies retention and addresses issues before they escalate.
- Leadership Enablement - Advise and coach our managers to effectively evaluate performance and make decisions aligned with industry best practices and our company’s core values. Support learning and development initiatives, such as helping design and facilitate training programs that foster continuous learning and skills enhancement.
This is a critical role within the company, and our expectations are equally high. Whatever you do should drive growth in the right direction. We will reward the right candidate with career growth, professional development opportunities and perks. Most importantly, you will be part of a success story, joining a team of high-performing professionals committed to excellence.
Who you are:
In full transparency, we are a fast-paced startup. Everyday is different, and the environment demands adaptability and high agency. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and views this as an opportunity to build and scale a P&C function. If you are looking for structure and predictability, this isn't it. However, if you crave tons of growth opportunity and want to be at the forefront of AI and innovation, you will find unparalleled reward and ownership here.
- 2+ years of progressive, hands-on experience as an HR/P&C Generalist in a high-growth environment, ideally in a tech startup or scale-up.
- Demonstrated experience owning the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
- Experience using an HRIS for administration and reporting (ideally HiBob).
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian (specifically BC) employment laws, legislation, and HR best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity and discretion.
- An analytical mindset for reporting and synthesizing people data.
Bonus:
- Experience in a SaaS or B2B environment.
- CPHR designation or pursuing CPHR designation.
- Experience in compensation band analysis and equity/stock options administration.
- Experience with culture-building initiatives in a remote-first or hybrid setting.
What’s in it for you:
- Competitive Compensation: A competitive annual base salary between the range of $70,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus up to 15% (7.5% variable dependent upon the company’s financial performance, 7.5% variable dependent upon individual performance).
- Remote-First: At CoPilot AI, we are committed to a culture of trust, autonomy, and high performance. With our Remote-First Policy, we empower you to do your best work from the place you call home. We have an office in downtown Vancouver for team members to use as they wish (completely optional)!
- Comprehensive Benefits: We've got you covered with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Health and Wellness Spending Account: We care about your well-being inside and outside the office. You will receive an additional $200 per month for a health and wellness spending account that accrues upon passing probation - our team uses it for their at-home office setup, electronics, gym memberships, haircuts, and more!
- Paid Time Off: We offer a generous paid time off policy as we believe that rest and rejuvenation are key for high performance.
- Stock Options: Upon joining CoPilot AI, you will receive stock options with the expectation of significant value. We're a team of high performers working together on a breakthrough success story, and we want you to share in the value we're creating.
Our Interview Process
One of our operating principles is transparency, so we’d like to share our interview process with you:
- Initial Screen: A 30-minute audio Zoom call with the hiring manager. The goal is to align on what this role entails, share context about our team and goals, and learn more about your experience and interest in CoPilot AI.
- Competency Interview: A 1-hour Zoom call with the CEO and Controller. This stage focuses on your technical knowledge and how you approach core P&C challenges.
- Culture Add & Values Alignment Interview: A 1-hour Zoom call with a few cross-functional team members across CoPilot AI. The focus of this stage is to ensure deep alignment with our core values and operating principles.
- Offer and Reference Checks: If you’ve made it this far, the hiring manager will give you a call to share the good news! We’ll ask for two professional references and then send over the formal offer documents. After that, it’s simply a countdown until your start date!
