As we scale into the next phase, we are looking for a Vancouver-based Product Designer II (Intermediate) to join our Design team!

The Role

Reporting to the Product Design Manager, the Product Designer II (Intermediate) will be a key player in shaping user experiences for our core product. This role is all about combining curiosity for customer needs, interaction design skills, and a problem-solving mindset to deliver experiences that delight users, drive our business forward, and unlock new possibilities with AI-powered features.

What You'll Do:

• Uncover user needs through hands-on research like chatting with customers in interviews or running usability tests. Don’t worry, we’re not expecting you to be a research expert—just know the basics. You’ll also get to learn things like creating research plans and turning insights into cool ideas with support from your manager. The best part? Our customers are super easy to reach, so you’ll actually get to spend time solving their problems instead of chasing them down.
• Dig into Customer Needs: Use research methods like interviews and usability tests to uncover what matters most to our users. While you don’t need to be a research pro, you’ll have the support to grow these skills and turn insights into actionable ideas.
• Collaborate and Ideate: Lead brainstorming and co-design sessions with cross-functional teams, ensuring solutions are creative, effective, and aligned.
• Design Intuitive Solutions: Partner with product managers and engineers to deliver seamless user experiences that balance customer needs with technical possibilities.
• Shape AI-Powered Features: Help design innovative, AI-driven tools that make our product smarter and our users’ experiences more intuitive.
• Evolve Our Design System: Keep our design system consistent and scalable, ensuring it grows with our product.
• Own Your Projects: Take the lead on projects, guiding them from initial concept to polished delivery while aligning with team and company goals.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Own the Design Process: Take charge of the end-to-end product design experience, using your skills in research, prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing to create thoughtful, impactful designs.
• Elevate Customer Journeys: Own and enhance key parts of the user journey, delivering designs that are not only visually compelling but also highly functional and intuitive.
• Drive AI Innovation: Collaborate with teams to design AI-powered features that solve real user problems and bring cutting-edge technology directly into the customer experience.
• Foster Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the design process, from concept to delivery.
• Iterate with Intention: Leverage feedback, data, and usability insights to refine designs in an Agile, iterative environment, staying focused on driving meaningful results.
• Use Frameworks Effectively: Apply design frameworks (like build, measure, learn) to create solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
• Balance Detail and Big Picture: Address immediate design challenges while considering long-term scalability and consistency across the product.

This is a role where creativity, ownership, and strategic thinking come together in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role is also a pivotal role in our company where you’ll influence the direction of our core product and have the autonomy to shape impactful solutions. You won’t just make incremental updates—you’ll own significant parts of the customer journey, driving meaningful changes with real, direct impact.

• Experienced Designer: You have 2–5 years of experience in product design or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Customer-Centric Thinker: You have a solid understanding of user needs and can balance those with business objectives to deliver impactful solutions.
• Collaborative Communicator: You excel at articulating design decisions and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.
• Prototyping Expert: You’re skilled at creating prototypes that effectively test macro and micro-interactions, bringing ideas to life in actionable ways.

Our Interview Process:

1. Screening call: A 30-minute audio Zoom call with a member of our People & Culture team or the hiring manager to align on the position, share context about our team and goals, and learn about your interests, skills, and experiences.
2. Competency and Portfolio Review (60 minutes): You’ll meet with the hiring manager and a PM to review your portfolio and discuss past projects. We’re looking to understand your design process, decision-making, and how your skills align with the role. This session will also include questions to assess your core competencies in research, prototyping, and interaction design.
3. Whiteboard Challenge & Culture Add Interview (90 minutes total): 
   1. Whiteboard Challenge (60 minutes): In this live session, you’ll tackle a collaborative design challenge with members of the team. The goal is to evaluate your ability to problem-solve, think critically, and collaborate in real time. Don’t worry—this is not about perfection, but about how you approach challenges and communicate your ideas.
   2. Culture Add Interview (30 minutes): A 1-hour Zoom call or in-person meeting with a Senior Product Marketer and the Director of Engineering to assess your alignment with our core values and core competencies. 4. Offer and Reference Checks: If you’ve made it this far, our Product Design Manager will give you a call to share the good news with you! We’ll ask you for two professional references and send over the formal offer documents. Then it’s simply a countdown until your start date!
